Sammy! felt like a breath of fresh air. The theme, stage decor, direction, acting and music- all displayed the talent and hard work that had gone behind the scenes. This period play offered viewers clean humour, interesting information, action and political and cultural insights into real people and events during one of the most momentous periods in the history of the British Empire and that of "Jewel in its crown" - India. All the actors exhibited massive talent as well as immense versatility. Neha Dube made a most convincing Kasturba, Joy Sengupta a very believable Gandhi as did Chaturvedi a most near to real life Dada. Were there any gaps/flaws? Perhaps Act II could have been a bit less rushed and the makeup could have been slightly improved. Despite these, Sammy! is a play well worth watching!! Three cheers to Lillette Dube and her team of actors!
This is a slide show focusing on Hounslow High Street, an example of sustainable development.
